Summer 2010 Recap: WE MOVED!

Recently, with the help of some wonderful family and friends, we moved out of the Basement on Center street and into a new, beautiful townhome. We loved our first place and created some great memories there, but after a year and a half, it was time to move.
We have been LOVING our new place! It's WAY bigger, and so many other things. My parents were awesome and came to visit us the week after we moved in. We're glad they did, because with their help, we hung things on the wall, picked up some deco's from the store and made it much more homey! And we love love love it! We have a guest room now, so anyone who is willing to make the trip to see us and our new place, has a room of their very own. (hint hint.. ;) ;) ) Just sayin.

Summer 2010 Recap: Colorado Trip

I LOVE Colorado!
At the end of July/beginning of August, we went to Colorado for a quick wknd trip. My cousin Kristen got married to Brad Pinwell. The sealing was wonderful and she looked spectacular.
I am so happy I was able to make it there for the special party! Mya was the flower girl and Peyton was the ring bearer. Can they get any cuter?
We also got to meet Brody, Jen and Dustins new baby! He is so cute! Along with Emily's twins, I feel like I was taking pictures of the babies all wknd long. I loved it. Again, can they get any cuter?
Aside from babies and wedding, we obviously had to hit up the lake. Can't go to Colorado, during the summertime, and NOT go to the lake! So, we went! :)
The sweetest thing happened. There was a crop duster fartin around nearby fields and he put on the raddest show for us. He started out flying underneath the power lines, and then up super fast. AND THEN he flew the length of the lake super super low.... probably 15-20 ft above the water is all and went right by us when the boat was stopped to swap out wakeboarders. It was amazing. I'm so glad I had our new cam out on the boat!

Summer 2010 Recap: Pioneer Day

July 24th is Pioneer Day. Utah loves to commemorate the Pioneer Saints who established this lovely State. We decided to participate in the festivities with our awesome friends. The Sanders, Denneys and Blomquists joined us for a fabulous wknd. Saturday morning, we went on an early morning 3 mi run to prep for our Ragnar Relay we're running in Las Vegas in Oct. We watched the Parade that went down our street. I have to admit, Logan did a pretty good job at putting it all together. After the parade, we went on lovely jaunt of a hike up to the Wind Caves through Logan Canyon. Collin and I had never done that hike before, so we were excited to share it with our friends. The view was incredible.
We had so much fun that wknd, especially since we had visitors! SO fun! Thanks again for coming up!!!

Summer 2010 Recap: Island Park 4th of July

It's quite apparent my blogging skills or frequency have been lacking throughout the summer. My apologies. I've decided to condense the fabulousness that is summer into one final summer post. Here are the things I haven't yet blogged about:
Our 2nd Annual "4th at Island Park"
The Rothey's as a whole (almost) have been going to the cabin at Island Park over the 4th of July for years now. And Collin and I have been a part of that for the last 2 years. This year was different from the last because instead of just 3 families going, we had 5. And it was spectacular. I'll admit, I was super hesitant to have 5 families/20+ people staying in one space for a weekend. But it was perfect. The weather cooperated so we didn't have to be cooped up inside. We played games. We ran the Sawtelle Stampede 5K (Luke rocked the catbox and took 1st in the Half Marathon). We roasted giant marshmallows. The boys made up any game they could. We floated the Big Springs River and got super close to a sweet moose. We drove to the top of Sawtelle Peak. INCREDIBLE view. And just enjoyed the company. It was great!
We had a wonderful time in Island Park and love spending time with family for holidays. We're happy we could hang out with a bunch of Rotheys. Happy 4th of July (a little late, but whatever)!

Emily Emily Emily

Today is August 22. It's my sisters birthday. Emily. She's amazing. The way she juggles everything in her life is just incredible. She has 4 beautiful kids, including twins that she had in February. She works/teaches piano lessons a ton and is always so so busy. But she does it all with grace.
Emily is #4 and I'm #5, so naturally we hung out a bunch while growing up. High School was fantastic, because she let me bum around with her and her friends every once in a while, who I obviously thought were the coolest people I knew. We also got to play volleyball together, and those were the best times. I loved having all that extra time after school with her.
I look up to Emily so much. She paved the way in life, and has been such a great example. Married an incredible husband, Aaron, who rocked at her birthday date last night. (Ask her about it... it was awesome.) Has worked hard with every job she's had. Is so talented... you should hear her play the piano. Mesmerizing. And she's so much fun.
I love that we're still close, even though I'm still living in Utah. We talk on the phone just as much, if not more than I talk to my mom. And that's saying a LOT. Anyway, I just love her to pieces.
Have a fabulous Birthday, Em. I love you.

Change

No, we didn't fall off the face of the earth. YES, we DID move into a new fabulous townhouse that is so wonderful! Blogging hasn't even been an option there, since our internet is FINALLY transferred over today (Qwest was having some issues getting it right). But, I am so behind that I figured I'd add a little tiny something. What we've been up to lately~ *Moving (obviously already bragged about that one)/Getting Settled *Visiting family in Denver (went to Kristen's wedding and to meet new baby Brody) *Hanging out with the Rothey side of family *Playing. A LOT! Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Running, etc etc etc *Working. *Prepping Collin for School (he's not that excited about the new semester starting up again) *Relaxing (Ya Right) *24th of July/Pioneer Day weekend fun with Friends (Denneys, Sanders and Blomquists) Probably a lot more things I just can't think of right now. I have a ton of pictures I need to post when I get them all uploaded and whatnot. Anyway, Have a fabulous weekend.
