MARATHON! I've decided, officially, that I'm going to do a 1/2 Marathon. No, I haven't yet registered. I just checked out the calendar on utahrunning.com and I think I'm going to register for the Salt Lake City one. Their cause is Cancer, which is notable. I appreciate that. If I'm going to fork out $50-$80 to run 13.5 miles (hopefully), it might as well go toward a good cause.
Anyway... I would like to know if any of my devout readers (haha... thats a funny thought) have run a half marathon in Utah, or even if you've heard of a sweet race that you'd recommend. Gracias~

This isn't in Utah but I've always wanted to run the Disney World Princess 1/2 marathon with my sisters.
We we're in SLC for the marathon a couple of years ago it looked like fun. Basically, it made me feel fat and lazy while I went off to Hires to have some onion rings :)
I am going to run this 1/2 marathon too!! We are getting a group of provo-ers to do it. I have done it twice before and its a really good one! I have loved it!
It is so expensive to sign up. But I reaaaally want to do it!
fun fact: I am currently texting you AND commenting on your blog at the same time. we talked about this last night....but I agree, salt lake one is too much money. I'll do a different one with you, unless you and Collin want it to be a private thing ha ha. found out the hurricane one is actually april 30th. road trip to southern utah could be fun. but then, that would not make it cheaper than the salt lake one. I don't know.
Traci go for it. I did my 1st last year. I am running one at the end of February in Fort Worth Texas. I have goal myself to run 4 this year in preparation for the Rock N Roll full marathon at the end of June 2012. It is in Seattle. That is what I want to do for my 50th b-day. I am making Kels, Brie and Teresa run the 1/2 part with me and then be there to watch me run across the finish line. The whole family will be there. We are making it a family trip too. I have a really good training schedule. It works great if you want it. Let me know. Seriously though I am with your friend I would love to run the Disney 1/2 I know of someone that did it and loved it. Go for it! You will love it and is worth every penny!
The Bear Lake half is awesome. It's great for first timers because it's completely flat the entire way. And you get to look at the gorgeous lake as you run. I could maybe be convinced to do it with you.... :)
good for you!! thats so awesome!
