Carlys Wedding

Carly and Spencer got married the day before we left for Africa and it was such a beautiful day! She and Spencere were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple, and it was so gorgeous when they came out. They were so happy and I was elated for them. And she was a BEAUTIFUL bride!!!
They had their reception at Le Jardin in Sandy, and it was an incredible atmosphere because its an basically an indoor garden. Trees and Flowers all over. Nick and David Grant came out for the Wedding and so did Brett and Kristy and Brooke! Such a great time to get together and support Carly!! It was a great day!!!
My old roommate, Natalie, did the flowers and they were beautiful. I loved the colors she had. It went so well with Carly's skin tone and Spencer's hair! Funny thing to say, but it's true. I'm bummed though, because Natalie took off before I could get a picture with her! She's a doll though and it was great to catch up with her.

The Bride-To-Be

Last weekend, we had a little shindig for Carly. I wish I could call it a bridal shower, but we just got together at the Zupas in Draper . We had dinner and talked and giggled and had a great time. We also gave her some "fun" little gifts that will get great use.
Carly is so phenomenal and I am super excited for her to get married on Monday. She and Spencer are wonderful together and I couldn't be happier for them. She never ceases to amazes me. She alwasy dominated life and school at BYU, and then she went out to DC and got all distinguished on us and is graduating with her Law Degree. She'll be working at a law firm in SLC, married and living in a house she and Spencer bought. So many wonderful changes, so many exciting things happening for her. And I'm SO happy! Absolutely fabulous! Yay for her day!

SLC, PC & UC!

A few wknds ago, we had the opportunity to go down to Salt Lake, Park City and Utah County for a bunch of great things happening. It was full of family, friends and fun! It started out Friday morning with us meeting up with my parents, grandparents and Clay and Jeanie at their hotel. They had come into SLC Thursday night for Daron and DaniBree's wedding dinner. We then went to the SLC temple for the sealing. We hadn't been to a sealing there before, and it was absolutely beautiful.
Kent/Heidi, Clarke/Jo and obviously Nea/Steve were there along with those of us I already mentioned. I loved being there with family, even though noone else from Colorado had come.
We got to hang out the rest of the weekend in Salt Lake and Park City. As was mentioend previously, we stayed with the crew at the Marriott MountainSide, and the reception was at the St. Regis.
The Reception!
About that - this was the most intense reception I have ever been to. It was incredible. So many different things going on. The location was breathtaking. A few posts ago, I said it was a gondolla that you take up to the hotel, but I stand corrected. It was a finicular. Such a fabulous view. Going down was a little scary, but it was awesome more than anything.
Anyway, back to the reception.

I haven't seen a better wedding video than DaniBree and Darons. It was so well done. They each talked about their dating/engagement story and gave their perspective. Then there was actual footage of the proposal. Daron is quite the romantic, and I was so impressed with it all. There was dancing... a lot of dancing. At first, the wedding party danced into the room in couples. Then the brides sibs/spouses, daron/db and anna danced to the Black Eyed Peas' "I've got a feeling." It was super fun and creative. There was also a cute presentation DaniBree's dad did with live butterflies. Apparently her great...great grandma was Native American and he talked about a legend in telling a butterfly your secret, it'll keep it safe and take it to the Great Spirit so that it'll come true. So, there was a bunch of butterflies flying all over the place. It was cool, I'd never seen anything like it before.

The rest of the wknd was great just hanging out with my parents and grandma/grandpa. It'd been a long time since we were able to spend that much time with them. Grandpa's Alzheimers are getting pretty bad, and sometimes I wonder how much he knows/remembers, or even if he remembers me at all. Well, Sunday when we were saying our gbye's, he gave me a big hug and said "Love You, Sweety." Then the tears started coming. Whether he remembers me or not, he knows he loves me. It was so nice to hear him say that. He and Grandma mean so much to me and have been such incredible examples. They've supported me through so much and are phenomenal people. I love them.

After the crew left, Collin and I went down to Lehi for Owen's baby blessing. Ryan and Laura were nice enough to open their house for it. Brett did such an amazing job, and it was so great to be there with Brett and Kristy for this special time in theirs and Owen's life. We are so blessed to have such fantastic people in our lives. Great family and Great friends. This was truly a fabulous weekend.

A Teaser for the Wknd

Before I post about the weekend, I have to share a "special" story from the wedding festivities... While we were in the waiting room before the sealing, Dani Bree's dad came and gave us parking validation. We read it and it said "Complimentary Parking, Charge the Master." After the wedding, we went to get our car in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. As we were leaving, we handed our entrance ticket and the parking validation to the guy at the booth. He asked if we had validation, which we thought we'd already handed him. He tells us he has never seen that type of validation before. So, we tell him we just got out of the sealing at the temple and that's what they gave us. Then he asks us "Well, who's the Master?" I lean over Collin from the passenger seat and say "God?" We tell him the gentleman in the car behind us (my dad) has the same ticket, and he lets us go. At the next light out of the JSMB, we stop and my dad pulls up. He asks us if we paid for our parking, to which we tell him that we gave our Validation ticket. Then he informs us that the validation ticket was for our parking at the St. Regis for the reception. Whoops. We didn't live that down for the rest of the wknd. So embarrassing. Anyway, more deets and pics to come later!!

So excited!

This wknd, my awesome cousin, Daron is getting married. We are so excited for him. He and Dani Bree will be sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
And Collin and I get to stay in this Marriott MountainSide hotel with my parents and grandparents for the weekend.

And their reception will be at the St. Regis @ Deer Creek. Yes, you have to take a gondola to get there. Ok, fine, we'll go!

I couldn't be more excited for them, and that this weekend we get to hang out with family. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and some cousins will be there, and it will be a blast. So, of course, actual pictures that I will take will be added later! :)
